A key component to MODUS’ success is our proprietary, custom-built Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP).
SIPs are used to assemble the walls, roof and floor systems, with our in-house quality control team following the build process every step of the way, allowing for quick production inside or on site with minimal waste.
Each lightweight panel features a R4 per inch rating, an 95% efficiency, and is build vCFC and HCFC free, ensuring the consistency of each panel’s durability and versatility, while maintaining its mold, mildew and moisture resistance and thermal efficiency.
MODUS’ permanent modular units are built with our proprietary, metal-skinned, EPS-filled, SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) for the floors, walls and roof, delivering industry leading fixed R-values, and creating an outstanding, thermally efficient envelope that delivers high occupant comfort at lower heating and cooling costs.
For locations with more extreme environmental conditions, we can offer an HD version capable of carrying 10.5 KPA live loads if required. Our R-33 rated exterior walls, R-38 floors and R-54 (average) roof meet or exceed the advanced ASHRAE energy saving guidelines.
The SIP’s steel skin minimizes or eliminates most common maintenance and building degradation issues that can affect other modular manufacturers over the long term. EPS insulation is a rigid, chemically inert product, that doesn’t gap or sag like traditional bat insulation, thus providing a fixed R-value. It is also CFC and HCFC free, completely resistant to rot, mildew, mold and bacterial growth.
MODUS can also offer a PERSIST wall system incorporating our proprietary metal-skinned, IIP (Integrated Insulation Panel) with R-36 floors, R-33 walls and R-40 roof. These industry leading fixed R-values can also be adjusted based on your project or geographic specific design targets and objectives, including LEED contribution, compliance and certification, resulting in an outstanding, thermally efficient envelope that delivers lower heating and cooling costs over time. The IIP’s steel skins minimize or eliminate most common maintenance and building degradation issues that can affect other modular manufacturers over the long term. IIP’s will not gap or sag like traditional bat insulation, thus providing a fixed R-value. They are also completely resistant to rot, mildew, mold and bacterial growth.
